Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Technology Seminar held at the School of Electrical Engineering

On March 27, the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things Technology Seminar was held at the School of Electrical Engineering, Shandong University. Professor Xiaoxin Zhou, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Professor of China Electric Power Research Institute, discussed the connotation, key technologies, impacts on the industry, and new requirements for the training of talents of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things with the delegates. Shucai Li, Vice President of Shandong University, discussed and exchanged with experts at the seminar. Delegates from China Electric Power Research Institute, China Electrical Technology Society, Huawei, Gree Electrical Appliances, Tsinghua University, Shandong University of Technology, Zhongsoft International, Shandong Electric Power Research Institute of State Grid, Shandong Economic Research Institute of State Grid, Dongfang Electronics, Jicheng Electronics, Shanda Electric Power and Shandong GridNT Inc. attended the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by Hengxu Zhang, Executive Vice President of the School of Electrical Engineering. Xiangyi Liu, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Electrical Engineering, delivered a welcome speech. He said that the School of Electrical Engineering of Shandong University has closely focused on the national strategic needs for discipline construction and personnel training, actively sought a layout in the field of Energy Internet, and actively responded to the advocacy of the State Grid Corporation in building the Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things to organize scientific research.

In the first half of the seminar, four experts from different industries made special presentations. Professor Bingyuan Xu of Shandong University of Technology made a report on "Discussions on Several Issues of Distribution Internet of Things", pointing out that the current status and problems of Distribution Internet of Things, especially the importance of grid sensing and the inconsistency of data storage and transmission norms; Director Jie Ge, Institute of Artificial Intelligence, China Electric Power Research Institute, made a report on "Key Technologies and Implementation of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things". This report expounds the definition and key technologies of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things, and illustrates its existing basis and future implementation path. Xiaolong Guo, an innovative expert of Huawei Wireless Network Research Department, made a report on "5G and Internet of Things", detailing the research status, development and supporting role of 5G, emphasizing the technical support of 5G chip technology for the future Internet of Things. Zhigang Zhao, Dean of Research Institute of New Energy and Environmental Technology of Gree Electrical Appliances, made a report on "Near User Side Energy Internet Technology and IEMS System", introduced the working mechanism of new solar air conditioning system, the DC interconnection technology between future household appliances and power grid, and the role of intelligent household appliances in demand side management. The characteristics and technical requirements of intelligent household appliances in Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things were emphatically analyzed. It was considered that DC interconnection was a key point for future development direction.

During the second half of the seminar, the participants held a heated discussion on the topic of "Ubiquitous Power Internet of things". Xiaoxin Zhou, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, made a concluding remark. He emphasized that the connotation of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things should be deeply considered from the perspective of changing thinking. The future power energy system will be the organic integration of clean energy, power facilities, politics, economy and various social subjects through information technology. Full attention should be paid to data-driven intelligence, the transformation of information processing mode and electricity, the paradigm of energy object modeling and simulation, the construction of Energy Internet specialty, and the ability training of traditional electrical engineering professionals in data and information technology.

Shucai Li mentioned in the discussion with experts that the Electrical Engineering Discipline of Shandong University has a good foundation, has trained a large number of outstanding talents for China's power and energy industry, and actively responds to the major strategic needs of the country to carry out scientific research work; the recent development momentum of the School is good with the guidance and help of experts. This seminar is a cross-border seminar involving universities, research institutes, telecommunication enterprises, household appliances consumption industry and power equipment companies. It is helpful to open up thinking, further deepen the understanding of the basic concepts, key technologies and construction schemes of Ubiquitous Power Internet of Things, and provide direction guidance for Electrical Engineering of Shandong University to do scientific research and train talents for the needs of the country.
